My plan is to write about issues that affect women, mostly my age group, but really all women. Also, in this plan I want to review, from time to time, products that are being marketed to our specific lifestyles and age group. Within all of this, I want to encourage other women and hopefully, be encouraged by those women.
As many of you, when I was young, everything seemed possible. People noticed me and were interested in me (for various reasons). As I have grown older, I find that sometimes I feel invisible. Sometimes I feel that I have to prove my relevancy. Well, I am not doing it and I don't expect you to either.
For years, I allowed myself to be underpaid and overworked because I believed I was competing with younger women. Because I took time off for a number of years to raise my children, I felt I was no longer as competitive as I once was in the job market. That was simply not true.
As I enter my sixth decade, I am starting a new dream. In fact, I am starting many new dreams. I have more confidence in my abilities that I once did and I hope that as you have aged, your confidence level has soared, also. It should! We have experience, we have lived through more, we have seen more, and we have survived all of it. We have come out on the other side wiser, more knowledgeable, and hopefully, more courageous.
I don't care as much about what people think I should be doing at my age. They can follow their path and I will follow mine and we will both be happy. If everyone lived the same way, did the same things the same way, and there were no differences, where would be the fun in that?
How you die is not as important as how you lived.
How are you living your one life?
